New datasets available through the meteoblue Dataset API: Tropical Storms

Using the observed tracks data (ibtracs version 4) of tropical storms, we run a hurricane wind speed model to compute their spatio-temporal wind impact. We modelled all hurricanes and tropical storms for North and Central Amercia since 1950, as well as all Atlantic hurricanes since 1940.

Available datasets:

  • Tropical Storms (US) Data: Updating in realtime to include the latest observations of new hurricanes. Also the forecast tracks for the next 120 hours are computed newly 3 times a day.
  • Tropical Storms (Indian Pacific) Data: Updated once a year.

Further information about the Tropical Storms datasets is available here.
